Occupy Regina: Monday night
Above are some images taken Monday night at the Occupy Regina protest. The group held a meeting to collectively discuss some wants and needs. Here are some of the items (incase you might like to donate) they are looking for: tent heaters, kitchen supplies and utensils, storage bins/recycle bins and slow cookers.
The group will have some limited funds from an Regina Public Interest Research Group (RPIRG) grant they received last night. Donations continued to come in as well, with individuals dropping off water and food. One man even lent a bicycle with a chariot attached for loading items.
Tonight there was a dj playing dance music until 9-9:30pm when the police came to shut it down. Apparently the police had received a noise complaint. The occupiers fully co-operated with the authorities and until midnight (when I headed out) there were no further issues. It was a quiet night.
